COINTELPRO 101," a 2011 movie, details the program of illegal spying, disruption and murder that was carried out from the highest level of the US government during the 1960s and early 1970s - and those who uncovered and opposed this program.
COINTELPRO was directed against revolutionary and progressive movements and individuals, and anyone else they thought was standing in the way of the empire. The film brings all this to a new generation, at a time when torture, imprisonment without trial, wholesale spying and many other violations of human rights have become official government policy.
We'll also be offering as thank you gifts two important works on one of the most infamous operations of that time: the police/FBI assassination of the revolutionary leader Fred Hampton, chairman of the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Party, in 1969.
