Communities Collaborating for Change (3C) Conference on May 14 in Los Angeles
Los Angeles ? The People?s Community Organization for Reform and Empowerment ( People?s CORE) announced today that it will hold the Communities Collaborating for Change (3C) Conference on May 14 ,2011 from 9: AM to 5: 00 PM at the Roybal Learning Center at 1200 West Colton St. Los Angeles, CA 90026
The 3C Conference an organizational conference is set to establish a new alliance in Southern California around the founding issues of education, immigration, and environmental justice. This conference is organized by People?s Community Organization for Reform and Empowerment (People?s CORE)
The 3 C Conference is co-organized by Bantay Pilipinas-USA , Echo Park Community Coalition (EPCC), Environmental Justice Network of Southern California, Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV), Kabataang maka-Bayan (Pro-People Youth), Seniors for Pilipino-American Community Empowerment (S4PACE), Theta Delta Beta.
Battery of Known Speakers
The 3C is honored to host the keynote speaker, Zaynab Afdal Ampatuan, a well-respected Moro leader from Mindanao and co-founder of the Suara Bangsamoro Party of the Philippines.
Former Dean of Asian American Studies of Calstate Northride , Dr. Enrique Dela Cruz, Ph.D; Atty. Arnedo Valera, JFAV legal counsel and Executive Director of Washington based Migrant heritage Comminsion (MHC); and Jesse Marquez , Executive Director of CFASE will also be covering the issues of Education, Immigration, and Environmental Justice.
After this time, the organizations attending will break into workshops and draft resolutions to be adopted by the assembly. These resolutions will guide the work and reaffirm the stance of the Alliance on each issue.
Registration fee is $ 15 dollars that includes documents, continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks provided by The Park's Finest and included in the price of registration.
