Don?t let them take our students, our schools, our jobs!
On Tuesday, March 15, for the second year in a row, the School Board will make the final decision on whether to give away our schools to outsiders OR to respect the voice of parents, staff, and students.
In the LAUSD advisory votes, parents, students, and staff again overwhelmingly chose the teacher-developed proposals. On March 15, UTLA will demand that the District respect these votes.
Up to 250 schools districtwide could face the same threat of takeover in coming years. Let?s send a message NOW that we will not let our schools be given away.
Besides the harm the giveaways will do to student learning, the loss of schools could ultimately mean the loss of salary, jobs, health care, and retirement benefits for all of us. For latest information, go to: www.utla.net
