RAZA PRESS AND MEDIA ASSOCIATION -GENERAL MEETING-
On Saturday February 5, 2011, the Raza Press and Media Association (RPMA) will hold its next \"General Membership Meeting\". The meeting will be held at the Dr. Rodolfo Acuña Gallery and Cultural Center / Cafe on \"A\" , 438 South \"A\" Street in Oxnard, Ca. The time of the meeting will from 1pm to 3pm.
After the meeting, members will be able to attend the film screening and discussion of \"Yo Soy El Army-America\'s New Military Caste\" with guest presentation by the film\'s director Marco Amador at the same location.
Re-established in 1990, for two decades the RPMA has been in the forefront in the struggle to create a progressive and revolutionary media that will represent the interests of the Mexicano-Raza community.

1:00 PM Welcome/Introduction • Guerrillera/o de la Pluma Award 2010 • Brief 5 mins reports on the work being done By RPMA members (books, newsletters, workshop presentations, etc.). Members will report on work they have done or are currently doing. Please provide us with a written summation of your report. •PLEASE KEEP YOUR REPORT SHORT. No proposals/or recommendations are made during this part of the meeting. • Report from Coordinator/Mesa Members
1:30 PM Update On RPMA Projects • Guerrillero/as de La Pluma (journal of the RPMA) • RPMA Web Page (blogging, pod-casts, youtube, etc.) • Fundraising • Membership (Building a movement of progressive/revolutionary journalists and media workers)
• International Delegations (Venezuela, Nicaragua, etc.) • Publications (books, etc.)
2:00 PM Discussion current \" Attacks on Ethnic Studies and Campaign of Repression Against La Raza (Racist Laws, Deportations, etc). This discussion will take place from a media perspective (role of the media on our oppression and what the RPMA can do to counter/or put an end to this oppression).

As a means of raising funds for the association, the RPMA has books, pamphlets, and posters, that every media worker and Chicano Studies Major should have.
