Friday, December 17, 7:30pm, free public forum: "Wikileaks: Tearing Down the Walls of Secrecy" at the PSL office, 137 N. Virgil Ave., #203, Los Angeles
Join the Party for Socialism and Liberation this Friday night for the final public forum of 2010. There will be talks, political discussion, food and drinks and more. No one is fooled by the U.S. political establishment?s hypocritical denunciations of Wikileaks. The release of thousands of confidential State Department cables unveils the cynical, self-serving motivations of U.S. foreign policy. In contrast to the false image of the U.S. government as a promoter of human rights, we see it only cares about strengthening the interests of the ruling class. On Friday, we'll discuss this and answer the following questions: * What do the cables released by Wikileaks mean for U.S. workers and students? * From Honduras to Iran to Nigeria: What are some of the most important facts revealed? * What is the PSL doing to help understand the cables? * What's really behind the attacks on Wikileaks founder Julian Assange? * What have socialist countries done to reveal the crimes of imperialism in the past?
