DESCRIPTION:
Join us on Tuesday for a very special public forum in LA where we will hear from Seize BP organizers from the Gulf Coast. Hear about the how the spill has devastated families in the Gulf, the truth about the Escrow Fund, and the national effort to hold BP accountable.

On April 20, BP's "nightmare rig," wrought with safety violations, exploded 5,000 feet underwater in the Gulf of Mexico. After more than 60 days of lies from both BP and Washington, the most recent numbers revealed show how catastrophic this spill really is: 4.2 million gallons a day are spewing into the ocean. That's the size of an Exxon Valdez spill every 2.5 days.

Every living thing in the ocean will feel the effects. The disastrous toll on the environment has yet to be seen. And the effects are just as tragic on land: tens of thousands of families in the Gulf cannot work, and have no guarantee that they will be able to keep their homes or feed their families.

But immediately after the spill, people all over the country began to take action. The Seize BP campaign made national headlines, organized protests in over 50 cities, and made a significant impact on the handling of the spill.
