Dr. Tony Huntley, co-chair of the Biological Sciences Department at Saddleback college will host a discussion on ?The Biological Basis for Morality, Religiosity, and Belief in God?.
Dr. Huntley received his PhD in biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He currently is a professor at Saddleback College where he teaches evolution, animal behavior and oceanography.
Dr. Huntley?s research has indicated that altruistic behaviors can be seen in several non-human species and contends that we can follow the biological evolution of moral behaviors. Other research indicates that it may be possible to actually look into the brain and see both the regions and the cells responsible for what we call moral behavior.
