* PSL Fights Racism & War at Home: PSL members have been actively fighting the struggle against racism and war. We participated in a soldier-led protest against the wars on Afghanistan and Iraq at Ft. Hood, Texas, the largest military base in the country.
This week, the PSL has been fighting racism by opposing the "proud racist" Bob Keller, a Santa Clarita City Council Member who hates undocumented workers. PSL members and CSULB students also initiated a boycott against Kevin MacDonald, a white supremacist professor of psychology in Long Beach. Hear reports from these struggles and see how you can get involved.
* Haiti vs. Centuries of Colonial Plunder: The catastrophic earthquake in Haiti showed the world the depth of the extreme poverty there, but nothing is ever said about why Haiti is so poor. A look at Haitian history reveals the reality that centuries of colonial plunder have decimated the country--a history which the U.S. has a heavy hand in. Join us as we explore the Haiti's struggle from the late 15th century to today.
* Capitalist Economic Crisis Deepens: Many bourgeois economists and elected officials had predicted an economic recovery to take hold by now. While the richest bankers and CEO's have seen a rise in their stock value and bonuses, jobs continue to disappear each month at an alarming rate. For the vast majority of people in the U.S., the economy is still in a downward spiral. Come for a report and discussion on the current state of the economy.
