download PDF (149.8 kibibytes) In support of the CCPA, Homies Unidos will be holding a community forum bringing together a panel of Community Leaders, Legislators, and Affected families in support of this legislation to continue the struggle for human rights. The HR 182 Child Citizen Protection Act (CCPA) is a legislation that will allow an immigration judge to exercise discretionary authority with respect to removal, deportation, or exclusion of parents of citizen children. Since 1996, inhumane laws were established and the number of deportees has increased to over 2.3 million deportees whom have citizen children. With the increase of massive raids and deportations, over 13,000 citizen children have been separated from one or both of their parents within a two-year period. These raids and deportations do not take into account the interest of the children. Under the current inhumane laws, American children are deprived of their parents, of their families, and of the family values which are so much valued and enforced in this country. Your participation and support is necessary to successfully represent the community and to give voice to the voiceless citizen children and their needs.
