The next dropoff day in the Southern California Library's "Right to Read" children's book drive is this Saturday, August 15, at Skylight Books from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Our goal for the book drive is to collect 200 new (and gently used) books by the end of August so that we can build our children's book collection and make quality books available for the young people in our South L.A. neighborhood.
Library staff will be at Skylight on Saturday to meet with customers and collect donated children's books. Skylight Books is located at 1818 N. Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90027. For more information, go to www.socallib.org or call the Library at (323) 759-6063.
Help get quality books to children in South L.A. and support an important local independent bookstore at the same time!
Founded over 40 years ago, the Southern California Library is a people's library that documents, collects, and preserves L.A. community history.
