This special tribute to John Steinbeck, the Nobel Prize-winning author of the great American novel The Grapes of Wrath, will begin with Eric Vollmer reading an introduction by Garrison Keillor on the value of the written word. William H. Bassett will follow with "I Remember the '30s," a nostalgic piece Steinbeck wrote for ESQUIRE Magazine in the early '60s. Carmen Vega and Brenda Petrakos will be featured in "The Lopez Sisters," a short excerpt from the author's early work Pastures of Heaven. The program will conclude with Eric Vollmer reading an excerpt from Steinbeck's Nobel Prize Address of 1962.
THE VOICE IN THE WELL ENSEMBLE is a group dedicated to bringing classic and original works of the page and stage to audiences who want more room to think and imagine in their lives.
