The workshop will help with stress by asking people to \"come home to body\" and let go of the story lines that cause distress. Brunner helps people engage their sense perceptions to relax and open up to creative energy that some may have lost touch with.
This program offers contemplative explorations in creative movement, vocal improvisation, space awareness exercises and sitting meditation, which allows releasing, relaxing, and receiving. The program is open to anyone interested in leading a more balanced, playful, and healthy life.
Lance Brunner is an experienced teacher in the Shambhala-Buddhist tradition, and has directed contemplative arts programs for 15 years worldwide. Combining the arts, meditation, and action in the world, he has worked with health professionals, businesses, and leadership organizations, and within prisons. He has been a professor of music history at the University of Kentucky since 1976.
The Westside Shambhala facility is located upstairs on the south side of the street, across from Memorial Park and between 14th and 15th streets. Parking is available in the lot in front and on the street.
This class is presented by the Westside Meditation Group part of the Los Angeles Shambhala Meditation Center. It offers practice and study in the lineage of Shambhala Buddhism. It is part of Shambhala International, an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by the Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and now led by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
