"Shut Down: The Rise and Fall of Direct Action To Stop the War" screening and discussion.
Continuing our fascination with Direct Action To Stop the war, we'll be screening the Documentary film "Shut Down" (http://www.shutdownthemovie.com). The film presents the ideas and organizing guidelines behind the March 2003, shut down of San Francisco during the first days of war in Iraq. Additionally the film critically reflects upon the supposedly open ended organizing principals at the foundation of the DASW. The film provides the opportunity for critical reflection on contemporary anarchist practices, inclusiveness and power.
