The event is part of Rep. Gutierrez's Family Unity Tour where he visits 17 cities in order to collect petition signatures of US citizens and legal residents who are family or friends of undocumented immigrants.
The petition, which will be delivered to President Obama by members of the Hispanic Congressional Caucus in about two weeks, urges a speedy passage of a comprehensive immigration reform.

The event lasts a couple hours so if you cannot make it at 7 sharp, you can still come by later and sign the petition.
There will be testimony by children who have been separated from their parents because of deportation proceedings.
Let's come out in force!
The reason why the 2007 immigration reform bill died was because the anti-immigrant forces were well-organized and disciplined... Now we have to be better organized.
