Associated Pomona Teachers in solidarity with other local teachers associations from across the region ask you to join colleagues, parents, friends and community members and Stand Up For Schools on?March 13, the deadline for teacher?layoff notices from school districts.? Thousands of educators are expected to receive pink slips -- or Reduction in Force (RIF) notices --?this year.?In fact, over 15,000 pink slips have already been issued!? We will be Rallying in Support of Public Education and our Students! We will gather at 3 p.m. at 800 South Garey on the District Steps to make signs and organize. Dean Vogel, CTA Vice President, will join us and speak at 4 p.m. We will then march to corners of Garey and Mission and continue our rally as folks make their way home from work. Bring a sign or come early and make one.
