Downtown LA?s Crewest Gallery is celebrating the new Capitol/EMI global release of the RE:GENERATIONS album which links top Hip Hop, Pop, Latin, Reggae and Rock artists with the genius of Nat King Cole. The Nat King Cole RE:GENERATIONS art exhibition is a selection of visual art inspired by the music, style and cultural influence of Nat King Cole. This art exhibition features original artworks from the RE:GENERATIONS album CD booklet, including artworks by Sage Cole [visionary painter, grandson of Nat King Cole], Man One [renown graffiti/aerosol artist, who, for the RE:GENERATIONS album, created a Nat King Cole mural on the historic Capitol Records building in Hollywood, California], Ritzy Periwinkle [stencil artist extraordinaire], Overton Loyd [legendary P-Funk visualist who created numerous classic record covers/comics/animations for Parliament-Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins and George Clinton] and Gustavo Alberto Garcia Vaca [visual artist, known for collaborating with musicians including Detroit Techno producer/DJ Jeff Mills, Dub/Electronic producer/DJ Francois K, and the Foundation of John Coltrane and Alice Coltrane]. The art exhibition will also include original works by Marka27, Hilda Garcia, and Leslie Sheffield who have created artworks inspired by Nat King Cole, including a reproduction of "Lye" an original piece created by the highly-regarded neo-expressionist/graffiti painter Jean-Michel Basquiat. Original artworks, limited-edition prints, and the debut album itself will be available for sale throughout the month.
