Please join the protest against visiting law professor John Yoo this Monday Feb. 2nd from 2:30 -4:30 pm at Chapman University! This event is sponsored by OC Peace Coalition. We need as many peace activists from Orange County speaking out against Yoo's views on torture!
We will peacefully assemble at the corner of Glassell and Sycamore from 2:30 - 4:30 pm. We will be handing out flyers to students on the first official day of classes (during Yoo's class time). Bring your anti-torture and pro-peace signs!
Yoo was one of George W. Bush's legal advisors from 2001-2003. He was the principal author of several memoranda that provided legal cover to Bush by asserting that the president's war powers entitle him (along with his adminstration, the CIA, and the Pentagon) can ignore domestic and international laws that prohibit torture in interrogating military detainees.
