The GCC Justice Coalition has joined forces again to bring another event to the Glendale Community College and surrounding community. This Saturday we present an evening full of Music, Spoken Word, and Art in response to both the US-Iraqi crisis and the State budget cuts (with proposed 127% tuition hike) for all California Community Colleges. All money raised will benefit OXFAM for their project to rebuild water purification systems in Iraq and will help create a new scholarship for incoming GCC students who wish to be a part of on-going socially and politically conscious clubs of GCC.
Spearheaded by the APIM (Asian Pacific Islander Movement) of GCC, this event gathers mostly GCC students who have volunteered to put talent and word play to a cause bigger than themselves. There will be over a dozen acts performing with art on exhibit and some food for both mind, body and soul.
Please come out and enjoy...We invite you to bring family and friends...We invite you to support this community event, to support these two worthy causes; one global and one local, and we invite you to groove, look and listen to what some students have to say ( Who is it that said, "The learning process at Glendale is in constant evolution and the chance for a student to feel she/he can make a difference in this world is true revolution...").
If you are unable to make the date, we will still be able to take donations for the cause.
