**Public Meeting -- Please Post Widely** Afghanistan: The Other Wrong War
Thursday, October 16th 2008 7p.m. Se?ior Fish Restaurant 422 East 1st Street, Los Angeles, California 90012 (corner of 1st. St. & Alameda in Downtown L.A.)
"We need more resources in Afghanistan. I have been arguing for this since 2002, when I said that we should finish the fight against al Qaeda and the Taliban instead of going into Iraq. I have called for at least two additional combat brigades to support our efforts there. I have also called for at least billion in non-military assistance each year." ? Barack Obama, Democratic Party Presidential Nominee
Under the pretext of a nebulous "War on Terror" the U.S. renewed it's long-standing global ambition of military and economic dominance, particularly in the oil-rich Middle East. But the U.S. ruling establishment's so-called "good war", the war on Afghanistan, has seen a serious set-back for U.S. aims in the region. A sharp increase in calculated attacks by the Taliban coupled with the resignation of key U.S. ally, Gen. Pervez Musharraf in Pakistan, is putting Washington's war under increased scrutiny.
Join us in a discussion about building a stronger anti-war movement that opposes U.S. imperialism in all its forms.
