WTO pre-ministerial meeting
This meeting has been called by the US Secretary of the Department of Agriculture (M. Veneman, former Monsanto lawyer) in order to persuade key countries that biotech is a safe and friendly technology that will feed the world's poor.
It is *very* important that the WTO come to an agreement on biotechnology as well as other agricultural issues before the Cancun ministerial this fall, as any disagreement could be reflected negatively in the world press, causing the WTO to appear ineffectual or unnecessary.
Please come to Sacramento in June. Bring your friends, some tasty organic food, and a spare gas mask.
