WORLD WEEK FOR ANIMALS IN LABS
SUNDAY: Don't miss the KICK-OFF PARTY on April 20th, hosted by Last Chance for Animals, Foundation for Animal Liberation, and UCLA Students for Animal Liberation.
The night will begin at 6pm with MC Bob Linden of GO VEGAN RADIO introducing:
- An exclusive acoustic performance by John Feldmann of GOLDFINGER, the famous punk rock band that tours the world while promoting veganism and animal rights. John will play a set of songs inspiring animal liberation--and he'll also play Goldfinger's biggest hits!
- "CHATTEL," a documentary in progress by independent filmmaker Rebecca Harrell of World Citizen Productions. Chattel focuses on several animal research labs, including UCLA and HLS, and the campaigns and individuals who are working to close them down. The documentary explores the passion that drives activists to speak out and take action.
- New WWAIL t-shirts, buttons, literature, and FREE vegan cookies. Mingle with friends and get ready for the biggest animal rights event of the year!
Every year, millions of animals are burned, blinded, poisoned, scalded, electrocuted, maimed, paralyzed, traumatized, beaten, starved, injected with drugs, infected with diseases, tortured and dissected for useless experiments. Join us for an event guarenteed to psych you up for a week of empowering events where we will demand an end to this insanity!
MONDAY: On the 21st, get ready for the annual march at UCLA! With the creation of the Primate Freedom Project at UCLA, we now know exactly what is happening to hundreds of primates that are imprisoned in UCLA labs. Come protest atrocities that we fund with our tax dollars.
Meet at the corner of Westwood and Le Conte at 11am sharp! We'll take over the campus and disrupt business as usual.
In the evening we'll regroup for a parade of the UCLA animal abusers--at their homes! The animals don't get time off, so why should the vivisectors? We'll be meeting at 7:30pm. More details will be released at the Kick-Off Party!
TUESDAY: The 22nd will be dedicated to shutting down the infamous Huntingdon Life Sciences, where 500 animals die every day for products like toothpaste, weed killer, and engine cleaner. We will be going after the companies that make it possible for HLS to torture and kill animals every day.
Meet at 11am at Trader Joes (613 Mission Street) in South Pasadena. The target will be announced then!
Be prepared to meet that evening at 9pm for a candlelight vigil at the home of one of the key individuals who is keeping HLS alive. Be sure to dress in black!! More details will be released at the Kick-Off Party.
FRIDAY: On the 25th, we'll hit HLS again... hard. Get ready for a loud protest... We'll bring the signs, leaflets, megaphones, and blowhorns. You bring the conviction that we're going to shut down this horrific lab.
We'll be meeting at 1:30pm and caravaning around Los Angeles until the night. Bring a jacket, because we're going to be visiting several puppy killers into the night. Again, more details will be released at the Kick-Off Party.
