Latinos Against War (LAW), and allies, are organizing a march an rally on March 20, 2008 to call on Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE), to stop the raids and deportations in Boyle Heights. Also to call for an end to the war in Iraq and to stop the military recruiters in local high schools.
LAW continues to protest the presence of military recruiters on high schools and ICE agents in the Eastside. The military recruiters target immigrant Latino youth to serve as soldiers in this unjust war to kill families in Iraq! With the reward of U.S. citizenship as an incentive. While their parents are victims of deportations by the (ICE).
Blanca Duenas mother and local parent leader, David Cid local teacher, and Nelson Hernandez, RHS student, will speak and be available for interviews.
The LAW and the Boyle Heights residents are endorsing and supporting the May 1, 2008 national day of action.
