Bong-jun Kim is best known for his on-site, politically charged art that incorporates culturally significant symbols and spirit as a form of resistance against cultural imperialism and systems of oppression. Kim?s depiction of the strength and unity of people in struggle has fueled Korea?s drive to democratization under dictatorship and American puppet regimes.
On his rare visit to the US, Kim shares a selection of past and recent artwork that reflects Korea?s ancient myths and indigenous spirit of healing. He will also present the groundbreaking project of The Institute of Ancient Future Cultures that attempts to re-envision the future of the global community via exchange of ancient myths across the Pacific.
Admission is FREE.
