?MORE TREES, LESS BUSH? NEW YEAR?S EVE PEACE AND ENVIRONMENTAL CELEBRATION IN SANTA MONICA Monday, December 31, 2007 beginning 7:00 PM at The Church in Ocean Park located at 235 S. Hill Street in Santa Monica.
The fun-filled celebration will feature the ?Pre-Primary Comedy Review,? with popular stand-up comics Rick Overton, Denise Munro Robb, David Zasloff and Larry Hankin. Also featured will be live music and dancing with the all-activist band The Peace Tree that includes Steve Fine, Dennis Davis and other longtime peace and environmental activist musicians. Other performers will include singer and KPFK-FM radio host Maria Armoudian (also playing with Peace Tree), and ?singer/songfighter? Ross Altman. The event M.C. will be peace activist Jerry Rubin.

The celebration will also include an all-you-can-eat vegetarian buffet dinner, complimentary champagne and complimentary reserved parking.
A highlighted ?Save the Trees? Midnight Unity Ceremony will be held to support Treesavers, a group working to save more than 50 native Ficus trees in downtown Santa Monica that are being threatened by the City?s plan to destroy or relocate them.
Admission is per person and for low income individuals. The venue is wheelchair accessible. There is no dress code. Singles and couples of all ages are cordially invited. Proceeds will benefit the Alliance for Survival peace and environmental group.
