GAME SHOW WRITERS? RIGHTS IN JEOPARDY
WGAW writers recently walked off the new syndicated game show, ?Temptation,? because the production company (FremantleMedia and its subsidiary Kickoff Productions, Inc.) refused to negotiate with the WGAW.
After several failed attempts to negotiate with Fremantle, the WGAW held an informational picket last week at Tribune Studios, where ?Temptation? is taped. The WGAW is staging a second, Guild-wide picket and rally.
NON-GUILD SHOWS ARE A DIRECT THREAT TO ALL TELEVISION WRITERS!
With 2007 Contract Negotiations happening, these non-Guild companies plan to provide the networks with airable programming, which could reduce the writers? leverage in negotiations. These companies continue to profit by disrespecting the writers who provide them with their content. By attending this picket, you?ll be supporting the writers and making a statement that you refuse to let companies take advantage of the hard work and talent of writers everywhere.
