SATURDAY, JULY 28th's EMERGENCY MEETING TO DISCUSS NATIONWIDE ABANDONMENT OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY DUE TO JOHN CONYERS AND NANCY PELOSI'S REFUSAL TO LISTEN TO AMERICAN VOTERS
Please come to LANIC's Saturday meeting on July 28th for an extensive strategy discussion on next steps, both w/r to L.A. City Council and to the U.S. Congress. Germany's largest public television station has indicated they are seriously considering filming our volunteer session this coming Saturday and Lisa Pinto (Congressman Henry Waxman's staff aide) should be in attendance either this weekend or next. Several other major news organizations are being contacted.
Given Pelosi and Conyers' disdain for hundreds of thousands of pro-Impeachment telephone calls and close to a million petition signatures that they have now received, we must all seriously examine the increasingly inescapable need to encourage a nationwide abandoning of the Democratic Party en masse due to the Party's leadership's complete disregard for the American People despite all of the forgoing and despite last fall's November 2006 election mandate.
The alternatives? There are several we will discuss this weekend. These include re-registering as Greens, or as Decline to State. ... To be determined. Again, LANIC and others gathered will discuss this further this coming Saturday at LANIC's headquarters (see www.BCMPEACH.com for details). WHAT IS TO BE DONE? -- OTHER REMEDIES AVAILABLE TO US BESIDE LETTER WRITING, PHONE BANKING, DEMONSTRATIONS & RALLIES July 28th's meeting is an emergency strategy discussion. We must show Nancy Pelosi & John Conyers that we live in a democracy and that our leaders are accountable to the will of the American people and not to the corporate puppeteers pulling the strings of King George or Queen Hilary. We certainly reject the dictates of a corporate military industrial congressional overclass that continues to call us "mere focus groups". In the weeks to come, LANIC will begin exploring -- in concert with the National Lawyers Guild and with other organizations -- legal and other remedies available to us.
