Support the Sanctuary Movement and Liliana!



WHAT: POTLUCK / SPEAKERS: This is an invitation to surrounding communities and movements to meet Liliana--mother of 3--who is facing deportation and taking sanctuary at St. Luke\\'s Episcopal Church in Long Beach. The sanctuary movement is again on the rise in the U.S. in response to growing ICE raids and deportations, with the echo of 1980\\'s sanctuary movement that lead to the granting of mass amnesty.

WHO: Liliana, CLUE [Clergy & Laity United Against Economic Injustice], Frente Contra las Redadas Orange County, and those who want to find out how they can support the sanctuary movement in our region.

WHY: Find out how WE as a community can better support and surround Liliana and the overall sanctuary movement while she in sanctuary in Long Beach.

As ICE continues to round our people and break apart families, the sanctuary movement also begins to grow.Liliana\\'s parents, husband, and three children are ALL U.S. citizens, but Liliana has been banned from citizenship b/c of an attempt almost 10 years ago to cross the U.S. border using a false birth certificate. The government refuses to pardon the \\"mistake\\" and gives no consideration to her years of hard work in this country. This law (among any law allowing for the deportation of our families) is inhumane and must be resisted.
