Please join us for our monthly movie screening, this time we will be showing the powerful documentary \"Juvies\" which details the story of 4 youth who are in Juvenile Hall, their stories and leading up to how it impacts their lives and those around them.
Please join us afterwards for a discussion how juvenile detention impacts our communities and what we can do working together to combat the mass incarceration of youth.
We will have Cassandra Gonzalez speak from Community Justice Network for Youth which is group we are part of along with the Youth Justice Coalition, Pico-Youth and Family Center, La Causa Youth Build, and others. CJNY is a national group that focuses on system accountability, juvenile justice issues and how collaboration can lead to real solutions to build a stronger future.
We will have delicious homemade Central American food and hip-hop by Genocidio and El Comandante, performers are always welcome. Spread the word and looking forward to seeing you there!
