Join the Fight to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal! Abolish the Racist Death Penalty!
Former Black Panther, MOVE Supporter, and award winning journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal is the U.S.'s foremost political prisoner. He was targeted by the FBI's Counter Intelligence Program and framed for the killing of Philly police officer Daniel Faulkner in 1981 and sentenced to death. Mumia's innocence has been attested to by mountains of evidence, including the sworn confession of Arnold Beverly that he, not Mumia, killed Faulkner. Yet Jamal still remains in danger of being executed despite proof of his innocence. The U.S. Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments on May 17. Mumia's case throws a spotlight on the barbaric, racist death penalty as a form of state terror descended from slavery. What is urgently needed is class struggle here and internationally centered on the unions. Students and campus workers need to join the fight to free Mumia now!
