Environmental Expo, Outdoor Dinner, Live Bluegrass and Rock n? Blues Music, Guest Speakers
Silverado Canyon, CA, April 4, 2007 - The Canyon Land Conservation Fund, a local non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the few remaining wild lands of the Santa Ana Mountains, is hosting The OC Tree Hugger\\'s Ball and ?Go Green? Expo on May 19, 2007 at Baker Canyon Ranch in Silverado Canyon. The festive event will include an environmental expo, outdoor dinner, guest speakers, live music and costume contest. Guests will be entertained with Blue Grass music by Shadybrook and Lilies of the West, and later with Rock?n Blues by ?This Side Up?, and finally Grateful Dead classics by cover band ?Cubensis?!

This year?s Tree Hugger\\'s Ball, scheduled for Saturday, May 19th in Baker Canyon (Silverado), CA., is a chance to experience the beautiful canyon areas we are striving to preserve while helping to educate the community about our vanishing wild spaces, and our vital part as stewards of the earth. This year?s ball focuses on the title ?Go Green in the OC!? The event will feature exhibitors of eco-friendly products and transportation, well known environmental speakers, live Musicians and a catered dinner. The Southern California Plein Air Artist Association will be exhibiting their paintings in a juried show and art sale. Paintings will be judged and awarded by Kellogg Museum Curator and Internationally known artist, Pat Merrill, from Cal Poly Pomona University. 35% of the art proceeds will go to the Canyon Land Conservation Fund?s wildland preservation efforts.
We will have old timey folk & Bluegrass music by the ?Lilies of the West? and ?Shadybrook?, Rock n? Roll Blues of ?This Side Up?, and ?Cubensis?, a Grateful Dead cover band, so you know there will be a lot of smiles and dancin?! Earthy costumed dancers make the ball a fun place to be! All this while we\\'re simply having a \\"Ball\\" under a beautiful canopy of Oak Trees! It\\'s a fun event for all ages. Proceeds from this event will be used for preservation efforts of wild lands of East Orange and within the Santa Ana Mountains threatened by upscale housing developments. Help us save our vanishing wild lands for future generations to enjoy and protect!
