Bark Victory! starts a monthly run at the Stone Bar on Sunday, March 18th at 8 PM. Bark Victory! is a new organization that holds fundraisers to help people with financially prohibitive veterinarian bills. In 2006 we helped two individuals who faced between ,000 and ,000 apiece in veterinarian bills.

The beneficiary of this Bark Victory! is Jennifer Taylor Scott and her 6-year-old Dachshund, Owen. Owen was diagnosed last year with Mega-Esophagus, a disease that usually leads to a fatal bout of pneumonia, from constantly regurgitating food into the lungs, or starvation due to malnutrition. Owen is currently fighting through though with the aid of a specially designed chair that helps him eat upright, a special diet and the patience and persistence of his owner. His current vet bills are over ,500 and his regular monthly care, without any emergency vet visits, is close to 0 a month.

This Bark Victory! is hosted by punk chanteuse and Hollywood fixture, Tequila Mockingbird. Besides Tequila, scheduled performers include: comedian Edison Apple, cabaret artist Alex Boling, musical comedy trio Eva Brontosaurus, electro trio Hayden and the Headphones and singer/songwriter Maureen Kelly. The mysterious Mrs. X will DJ before and after the event.

Stone Bar is located at 5221 Hollywood Blvd. (Hollywood & Harvard, roughly two blocks east of Western) in Hollywood. Doors at 7:00 PM, live show 8:00 PM. Ten dollar donation.
