FILMS FOR PEACE presents: "HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT"
FRIDAY, JANUARY 19, 7:30 PM
Documentary on the U.S. Army's controversial School of the Americas (SOA) in Conyers GA. This school has a grave record of human-rights violations by graduates of the institution. SOA has been churning out mass murderers, torturers, and kidnappers for the last half-century.

Inextricable from this issue is an understanding of the unabashedly violent and coercive historical role the U.S. has had in Central and South America during this time and continuing today.
The film provides a balanced and detailed accounting of this too-often untold history, and the social activists trying to change it. It is required viewing for anyone interested in ending terrorism: stopping the teaching, training and exportation of it!
CAFE BOLIVAR 1741 Ocean Park Blvd, Santa Monica (NW corner of 18th & Ocean Park Blvd)

Hector Aristizabal, a surviver of torture in Colombiawho now counsels other survivers leads a fascinating discussion following the documentary.
