WHAT This Wiccan ritual invites participants to make a pledge for the coming year before Brigid's flaming cauldron. You are invited to bring small samples of "waters of the world," and objects to place on the directional altars (and take home afterwards). Help is needed with set-up and altar-building – arrive at or soon after 6 p.m. to help. This ritual is "clean and sober," i.e. no recreational drugs or alcohol.
Brigid’s season marks the end of winter and portents the spring. Brigid was the mighty Celtic Triple Goddess of inspiration, art & poetry, healing, childbirth and smithcraft. The festival of Brigid (also known as Candlemas, Lady Day or Imbolc) is the time of year to replenish your creative wells and make a commitment or recommitment to your spiritual growth.
