Ms. Gonzales is a Gabrielino/Tongva/Yaqui tribeswoman dedicating herself to the preservation of her tribal culture and their sophisticated uses of edible and medicinal California native plants. You are invited to attend and hear her talk regarding forgotten plant species that form the backbone of Native Californian life. Ms. Gonzales will give a presentation at Tierra de la Culebra on Sunday, March 9 at noon, and discuss Gabrielino/Tongva history, their indigenous knowledge of native flora, and her tribe’s sacred sites in the Los Angeles Basin.
