Ms. Gonzales is a Gabrielino/Tongva/Yaqui tribeswoman dedicating herself to the preservation of her tribal culture and their sophisticated uses of edible and medicinal California native plants.
You are invited to attend and hear her talk regarding forgotten plant species that form the backbone of Native Californian life.
Ms. Gonzales will give a presentation at Tierra de la Culebra on Sunday, March 9 at noon, and discuss Gabrielino/Tongva history, their indigenous knowledge of native flora, and her tribe’s sacred sites in the Los Angeles Basin.
Driving Directions: La Culebra is located at 240 South Avenue 57, Highland Park 90042, between Figueroa and the 110 Fwy. From the 110-North, exit Via Marisol, head west, and make a right turn to head west on Avenue 57. Street parking.
