Message from CALPIRG:
Stop Media Monopolies!
When I turn on the radio or television, I don\'t want a few corporations to control what I see and hear. However, three years ago, despite the opposition of three million Americans and a US Court of Appeals, the FCC proposed to weaken media ownership rules, which would undermine consumer choice by allowing for more media consolidation. More media consolidation means less diversity and competition, which is bad for American democracy, for the arts and culture, and for the free exchange of ideas.
Now, under court order, the FCC is reconsidering those rules. You have the chance to speak out against unfair media ownership and stand up for your right to a fair and open media. Please join us at a public hearing in Los Angeles and make your voice heard.
