Socialist Perspectives on Building the Anti-War Movement
Panel Speakers & Open Dialogue
Peace activists and others opposed to the Bush war on Iraq are invited to this open forum to discuss the causes of the war drive and strategies for anti-war organizing. Sponsored by Socialists United for Peace & Justice (SUPJ), the event will address the relationship between Bush?s war and global capitalism;the importance of democratic organization within the peace movement; strategies for connecting peace with justice through alliance building; and lessons from past anti-war movements.
SUPJ is a coalition of independent socialists and socialist organizations?including Solidarity, Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, and the Freedom Road Socialist Organization?focused on bringing more working-class participation and racial diversity in the peace movement and providing socialist perspectives on anti-war strategy.
