Join A.N.S.W.E.R. and the National Committee to Free the Cuban Five on Sept 12 - the 8th anniversary of the unlawful arrest of the Five - for a rare screening of the Cuban film "Clandestinos."
The event will raise money for the ongoing campaign to free the Cuban Five and help send a delegation of LA progressive activists to Washington, D.C. for the Sept 23 national march and forum to free the Five.
Based on a true story, "Clandestinos" is a classic of Cuban cinema. It centers on a love affair between two young people in the urban underground movement, which fought against dictator Fulgencio Batista in the late 1950's. Suspenseful and inspiring, it portrays the heroism of the Cuban youth and their sacrifices that brought the Revolution to fruition.
Film shown by projector on big screen. Snacks & drinks provided. -10 donation. No one turned away for lack of funds.
