As students of all ages head back to school, a one-day-only book sale in South Los Angeles will provide access to thousands of low-cost used and new political books and pamphlets. The sale will make available unique and hard-to-find books on a range of current and historical political conditions, including such key topics as political theory, socialism, ethnic studies, and political history. The book sale will take place at the Southern California Library, located at 6120 S. Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles (between Slauson and Gage) on Saturday, August 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public; families and children welcome. There will be poetry performances by local youth and refreshments will be offered. For more information, go to www.socallib.org or call (323) 759-6063.
