Located on the outskirts of Arequipa, Peru, the school of Horacio Zeballos is a modest, makeshift academic resource that serves to enrich the lives of the children of this underprivileged region. Efforts to maintain and improve upon the conditions of the elementary school are bolstered by The Kindness Connection, a charitable organization created by three YMCA volunteers, Emily Broxterman, Ashley Sheffel, and Lisette Perez, who are committed to the expansion and development of the small community of Horacio Zeballos, Peru. Educational services at the elementary school are free to participating families who cannot afford tuition and registration fees. Servicing six grades levels, the school consists only of three classrooms and three state appointed teachers, with even the most basic school supplies in constant demand. Despite such limited resources, Kindness Connection and the citizens of Horacio Zeballos are aiming to include a junior high school as well as a training center in effort to expand their influence to a broader age range of students and their individual needs.
Community and global outreach is crucial in the crusade to secure a child?s right to a well-rounded education and hospitable facilities. jFERRARI Gallery in conjunction with The Kindness Connection, invites you to contribute to this worthy cause through the enjoyment of art, music and charitable giving.
