We’ll be gathering at 1pm in the parking lot of the Venice – Abbot Kinney Memorial Library, 501 S. Venice Blvd., Venice, CA 90291. We’ll begin the parade at 2pm walking down S. Venice Blvd toward the Boardwalk. We’ll turn on the Boardwalk, parading past Windward, and then turn around and head back to the library (approx. 2 miles.).

SOUTH CENTRAL FARM PARADE!!! The Friends of the Farm invites you to a PARADE to raise awareness about the struggle to save the South Central Farm. The parade will be led by the campesinas and campesinos and we are inviting supporters and organizations to join us for a lively afternoon of family fun on the Venice boardwalk in solidarity with the South Central Farmers. When and Where: This Saturday, June 24th. We?ll be gathering at 1pm in the parking lot of the Venice ? Abbot Kinney Memorial Library, 501 S. Venice Blvd., Venice, CA 90291. We?ll begin the parade at 2pm walking down S. Venice Blvd toward the Boardwalk. We?ll turn on the Boardwalk, parading past Windward, and then turn around and head back to the library (approx. 2 miles.). Who: You, your friends, your organization. Children are especially encouraged to attend! What to bring: Come dressed as your favorite fruit, vegetable, or flower or wear green. Bring sunscreen, umbrellas, and water, whistles, noisemakers, bubbles, tambourines, etc. Have your organization make a banner that says ?[ your organization?s name here ] supports the South Central Farm? and carry it in the parade! ARE YOU AN ARTIST, MUSICIAN, OR FUN LOVING PERSON AND WANT TO HELP US WITH THE PARADE? Examples of Needed Supplies: - Face Paints (non-toxic) - Bubbles (little bottles with the wands, for our parade) - Noisemakers (non-amplified; think New Years Celebration noisemakers) - Picket Sticks (for picket signs) - Markers - Bright Paints - Cardboard (large pieces) - Glitter - Little Paintbrushes Please take donations to the farm at 41st and Long Beach. Thank you for finding ways to support the largest urban community garden in the United States, and the people that find community and food there. - Friends of the Farm
