DESCRIPTION:

On Tuesday, June 13th AFSC will be hosting a discussion of the movie ?The Time is Now?
http://thetimeisnowthemovie.com/
The premise of the movie is that crimes and atrocities were committed by the U.S. during the Cold War. The movie maker asserts that a radical shift in thinking is needed ? a new framework, a new approach need to be instituted here by us. The time is now for us to take responsibility and give a full accounting of our mistakes and misdeeds during the Cold War. We need a Truth and Reconciliation Commission for ourselves and for the victims of the atrocities the nation committed in our names.

About The Time Is Now
The U.S. government trained soldiers on our soil to commit acts of terrorism abroad. Our government was complicit in a terrorist attack that hit our nation?s capital?25 years before 9/11/2001. These atrocities and others have never been publicly acknowledged. Filmmaker Kenneth Brady exposes these events in a searing new political film, The Time Is Now.
As a citizen activist, Kenneth Brady outlines a plan for a U.S. Truth and Reconciliation Commission and challenges us as citizens to bring about change in U.S. foreign policy. The Time Is Now (TTIN) endeavors to work in coalition with organizations who promote justice, democracy, and accountability. The Time Is Now seeks to co-host screenings and events, and use this powerful tool to raise funds and affect change.
