A.N.S.W.E.R. Film Screening: "Innocent Voices" The U.S.-Backed War in El Salvador
Tuesday, May 23, 7 pm 1800 Argyle Ave, #410, LA
Join A.N.S.W.E.R. for a special screening of "Innocent Voices," an award-winning film about the U.S.-backed war against the people of El Salvador. In El Salvador in the 1980s, the U.S.-armed and supplied government army recruited 12-year-old children to fight against leftist rebels in the decade-long civil war. This groundbreaking film is based on the true story of screenwriter Oscar Torres's embattled childhood during the war. ?Innocent Voices? bravely depicts how imperialist-funded violence stole the innocence of many children in El Salvador. In Spanish with English subtitles.
Plus: Report on the history of U.S. intervention in El Salvador by an A.N.S.W.E.R. activist who lived through the war.
