PARTY FOR SOCIALISM AND LIBERATION MEETING Crisis in Palestine, Bolivia & the Capitalist Class
Friday, May 19, 7:30 pm 1800 Argyle Ave, #400, Los Angeles
Join the Party for Socialism and Liberation this Friday for a branch meeting where we'll talk about the crisis in Palestine, the deepening class struggle in Bolivia and discuss the contours of the modern capitalist class. There will be political discussion, food and more.
* Palestine - End the Blockade: The U.S. government has imposed a vicious blockade on the Palestinian people. They and their regional watchdog - the colonial state of Israel - are trying to strangle and starve the population to serve their reactionary political ends. They are denying food, economic and medical aid from reaching millions of Palestinians because they elected a government that is refusing to bend to U.S.-Israeli demands. Learn about the current conditions facing Palestinians and the prospects for change.
* Class Struggle in Bolivia: Since the election of Bolivian president Evo Morales, the country has embarked on a different path, struggling to halt the exploitation that has plagued that country for decades. Recently, Bolivia nationalized its gas sector, much to the displeasure of the U.S. imperialists and other surrounding capitalist countries. Hear more about the deepening class struggle and its prospects for success in Bolivia.
* What is the Capitalist Class?: Capitalists own and control nearly all the wealth of society, yet they don't produce it. The backbreaking labor of the working class is responsible for generating all the money that makes the capitalists rich. Discuss the character of the ruling class - who are they; what are their interests. And find out what role politicians, the military and small shop owners and managers hold under capitalism.
