National Call for Students and Workers Boycott Schools! Don't Show Up to Work! Call in Sick! EVERYONE-WALKOUT!
Show support for the undocumented and your opposition to HR4437 by shutting down the economy on both dates!
Voice your opposition against HR4437, which will: ?Increase security forces and surveillance along the border. ?Give the power to immigration officials within 100 miles of the border to expel without a hearing anyone believed to be a recently arrived illegal immigrant. ?Require DHS to erect up to 700 miles of fencing along the U.S./Mexican border ?Make ?unlawful presence? a felony, meaning that undocumented immigrants may have to serve jail time and would be barred from future legal status and from re-entry into the country. ?Allow state and local law enforcement to enforce federal immigration laws. This bill is another racist attempt to criminalize the estimated 12 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. Other proposed legislation includes guest worker programs and "blue cards," which merely legalize slavery and create a permanent underclass. We will not end protests until our families, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and all law-abiding undocumented immigrants are granted amnesty.
On both dates, students should gather OUTSIDE their schools at 9AM and march to their local congressperson's office or a federal building.
Students in Orange County should march to two strategic locations:
Ed Royce 305 N. Harbor Blvd., Suite 300 Fullerton, CA
or
Ronald Reagan Federal Building 411 W. 4th St. Santa Ana, CA
To find out how your local Congressperson voted on HR4437, see {{PGEgaHJlZj0iaHR0cDovL2NhcHdpei5jb20vanVzdGljZWZvcmltbWlncmFudHMvaXNzdWVzL3ZvdGVzLz92b3RlbnVtPTY2MSZjaGFtYmVyPUgmY29uZ3Jlc3M9MTA5MSZhbGVydGlkPTgzMzMwMjYmc3RhdGU9Y2EiPmh0dHA6Ly9jYXB3aXouY29tL2p1c3RpY2Vmb3JpbW1pZ3JhbnRzL2lzc3Vlcy92b3Rlcy8/dm90ZW51bT02NjEmY2hhbWJlcj1IJmNvbmdyZXNzPTEwOTEmYWxlcnRpZD04MzMzMDI2JnN0YXRlPWNhPC9hPg==}}
Some points for students to consider: ?No violence or property destruction ?Avoid profanity or racial insults ?Make sure all signs are spelled correctly and free of grammatical errors. ?If someone asks about the flag you wave, tell the person you carry it to express cultural and ethnic pride, not to show allegiance to any government. ?Be wary of any informational forum held by police, schools, or government agencies. They want to mislead you with political jargon and empty promises. Don't fall for it!
United, we can stop our people from being criminalized. No more living in fear. Do this to protect those you love. We CAN make a difference, by standing tall and fighting back! AMNESTY NOW!
