ICUJP: Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace was created to support the work of Faith Leaders from Buddhist, Jewish, Christian, Islamic, Hindu, Bahá\'í and other backgrounds who say \"Religious Communities Must Stop Blessing War and Violence.\" Grounded in many diverse faith traditions, and honoring prophetic perspectives of non-violence, ICUJP\'s activities promote critical examination, from the faith perspective, of the costs of violence at home and in the world. ICUJP members are spiritual and secular leaders urgently committed to building a progressive interfaith movement devoted to actions for justice and peace.
ICUJP invites you to join us! A dedicated group meets each and every Friday morning at 7 a.m., at Immanuel Presbyterian Church (3300 Wilshire Blvd., at Berendo) in Los Angeles, for conversations with prominent guest speakers and with each other, in a challenging but supportive environment.
Participants in our events have included such notable activists as Van Jones, Marina Pisklakova, Ka Hsaw Wa, Tom Hayden, Aidan Delgado, Medea Benjamin, Father Roy Bourgeois, Ray McGovern, Rev. Jim Lawson, and many others. A number of acclaimed entertainment figures have also been key figures in our public gatherings, including Martin Sheen, Alfre Woodard, Bradley Whitford, Jane Kaczmarek, Hector Elizondo, Rocky Carroll, Aaron Sorkin, Mimi Kennedy, Ed Asner, Rob Scneider, Ed Begley, and more.
