Capitalism now spreads itself across the globe in its neo-liberal form,
effecting particular changes in the forms of economy and the workplace. Landscapes are transformed into belts for the seamless extraction of surplus value.
Using his experience in Osaka, Japan as a wage worker in many different workplaces, as well as a union member, sphinx argues that the antagonisms inherent to capitalism in Japan are managed using containment strategies specific to the concept of 'risk management', including the self-management of exploitation, and that a human community after capitalism is realizable through the ruptures that appear daily with capital's reproduction.
