WHO: LA Residents will Protest and Candlelight Vigil in Brentwood Outside Gov.'s Home if Clemency is Denied for Stanley Tookie Williams
Directions: 405 Fwy, Exit Sunset Blvd. West on Sunset 4-5 miles to Mandeville Canyon. North on Mandeville Canyon Rd 1.6 miles to Chalon Rd. WHY: As of today Sunday, Governor Schwarzenegger still has not announced his decision about whether or not he will grant clemency and protesters will send him a clear message that the people of California support clemency for Stan Tookie Williams and do not want him to die.
Should the Gov. deny clemency, protesters will bring their message to Schwarzenegger doorstep. They are holding the Gov. responsible for ending the hope of tens of thousands of school-children across the country who have read Tookie's children's books and have been inspired by his stories to stay out of gangs.
There will be another protest at the Westwood Federal Building on Veteran and Wilshire at 6PM on Monday December 12th.
Protests will also be held at the San Quentin State Prison, in Sacramento, Fresno, Riverside, Orange, Tiburon, Pasadena, Oceanside, Chico, San Diego, San Jose, South Pasadena, San Rafael, Santa Barbara, Ventura, El Cerrito, San Bernardino, Apple Valley, San Dimas, Ojai, Chino Hills, San Luis Obispo, Camarillo, Redwood City, and Palo Alto.
