Poetry, music, tours, exhibits, and gift opportunities will be featured at an end-of-the-year holiday celebration offered by the Southern California Library. The afternoon, a year in review for the Library, will highlight local artists performing poetry, spoken word, jazz, and song, as well as tours and exhibits drawing on the Library's collections and programs and speakers from throughout the year. A gift table and silent auction will offer the opportunity to purchase unique and hard-to-find books, including signed copies of The Next Los Angeles; CDs; political and cultural art by local artists and others, including prints, photos, and ceramics; and tickets/services to museums, amusement parks, massage, horseback riding, and more. Performers will include the Quayo jazz trio, poets V. Kali, Lady Flow, and Antonieta Villamil; and singer Leonard J. Plick. Refreshments and desserts will be offered. The event is free and open to the public; families and children welcome. For more information, go to www.socallib.org or call (323) 759-6063.
