For Immediate Release: August 29, 2005 2nd Annual ?Six Degrees Festival? Hits Downtown Los Angeles With 5-Adjoining Warehouses Totaling 54,000 Square Feet of Creative Space Hosting: Art, Music, Film and Fashion Saturday, September 17, 2005 (Los Angeles, CA) ? The 2nd Annual Six Degrees Festival is set to take place on Saturday, September 17, 2005, in downtown Los Angeles. Organized by a collective of top promoters and gallery owners from the downtown area, in conjunction with Selah Artistic Giving Center, the festival will run from 3:00pm ? 12midnight and admission is only for the entire day. The extravaganza will take place in a series of five adjoined warehouses totaling over 44,000 square feet split into individual ?zones? each housing their own mini-festival of art, music, film and fashion curated by respected talents from each field. An additional 10,000 square feet of street space will display painted vehicles and custom-made art cars by Burning Man affiliates. Enter the main entrance at 1329 East 6th Street, Downtown, Los Angeles, CA 90021 (between Alameda and Mateo). Parking directly across the street will be available for .00. Attendees must be 21 years old or older. For more information please visit www.sixdegreesfestival.com. Festival organizers point out one of the most unique features of their festival is the fact that each artistic medium has its own unique space. Unlike many other multi-medium festivals, the different art forms do not need to compete for patron?s attention in the same area. Each emptied-warehouse will be readied with intimate fabric d?cor by Do-Lab (www.thedolab.com) who will create a surreal and stunning atmosphere for each area. Showcasing premier art, film, fashion, and musical talents of the downtown (and beyond) art scene, this event is a celebration of the young, emerging creative scene as industry professionals, artists, musicians, gallery owners, and people of similar interests come together for promotion, education, networking and entertainment. The art zone in Zone #2 is presented and curated by eight of the hottest galleries and art collectives in LA including Transport Gallery, Cannibal Flower, The Project, Walled City, Selah Artistic Giving Center, Create:Fixate, The Hive and 1269 Gallery. The organizers of the Six Degrees Festival, through its collective years of experience in downtown, have produced hundreds of events, drawn tens of thousands of art enthusiasts, and provided excellent and dependable services for this growing downtown group of urbanites. Last year, the Six Degrees Festival drew 3,000 people with only four gallery owners, curating and presenting. For 2005, eight galleries and art collectives collaborate to present an extended multiple medium event spanning five warehouses to bring a festival to Los Angeles unlike any other. The Six Degrees Festival Collective will give a portion of profits to the Selah Artistic Giving Center (www.selahagc.org), a non-profit organization that supports the Los Angeles art community. Selah empowers individual artists and inspires, through charitable fundraising, their global vision. Selah provides a free space for artists to perform and display their work, a program to receive business counseling and technical assistance, and the opportunity to participate in multiple media fundraising events for both local and global charities. Six Degrees\' contributions will help Selah in their launch of a massive online community-based gallery. # # # For more information please contact Lynn Hasty at Green Galactic at 323-466-5141 or lynn@greengalactic.com.
