OPERATION: VETERAN FREEDOM ??In the morning of March 19th, 2005 a young group of combat veterans, reservists, and active-duty military personnel who had fought in some of the deadliest combat-zones of Iraq and Afghanistan marched through the city streets of Fayetteville, NC to protest 2 years of U.S. occupation in Iraq. Soldiers stationed nearby at Ft. Bragg, the largest Army installation in the world, ?left base against the orders of their Commanding Officers and joined their fellow GIs in demonstrating their hatred toward the war. ?The following day a newly formed organization named "Iraq Veterans Against the War" held its first national meeting. This event marked the beginning of an organized GI resistance against the conflict of the Gulf War known as "Operation: Iraqi Freedom." ??www.operationveteranfreedom.com
